An introduction to the Systematic Inventive Thinking “how-to” approach to accelerated development and implementation of innovative ideas that are validated. 

In this one-day session you will learn the method used in over 70 countries around the world to solve problems and create breakthrough results on-demand.

Join us for this fun, engaging and informative session where we will teach how to apply the proven, repeatable principles of Systematic Inventive Thinking method to innovate new services and products.  We will better understand the innovation process - how we come up with creative ideas, and the process of turning them into innovations that drive results.  

Systematic Inventive Thinking is based upon the award-winning course taught to managers, product developers, marketers, strategists, engineers and innovators on 5 continents. Since 1996, it has been used in innovation programs in more than 60 countries and by thousands of companies and organizations in every field from medical devices to aeronautics.  Systematic Inventive Thinking is taught at leading schools around the world such as London Business School, Harvard MBA, MIT Masters of Innovation, Stanford MBA, Columbia MBA and many others.

This course is eligible for credits towards your Masters Certificate in Innovation Management.  This course is also recognized for continuing education credits for the Professional Engineers of Ontario. It may be considered the prep course for the IAOIP (International Association of Innovation Professionals) Certificate in Design Thinking.  Participants have the option of writing an exam to receive this designation.

Course Framework

Participants learn techniques and principles based on patterns inherent in innovative services and products. In effect, the products and services that have stood the test of time have a secret to share. We will learn the five patterns that were used to create them can be applied to any product, service, or process to create something new that solves a problem better.   

Unlike other innovation programs that talk about innovation processes and techniques, participants in this program will “innovate” and experience the process of creating novel, new-to-the-world concepts for their specific field of endeavour.  What's more you will learn a method that you can apply to innovate and improve in every area of your life.  

This program consists of a one day intensive training course. 

Participants must attend all program modules.

Participants Will Learn How to:

  • Identify when to use Problem-Based (Design Thinking) vs. Solution-Based (Systemic Inventive Thinking) Innovation Methodologies
  • Identify key principles of the Systematic Inventive Thinking Model such as “Function-Follows-Form”, “Sweet Spot” and “Closed World” principles and how to apply them in the innovation process
  • Apply a systematic convergent and divergent thinking process into evaluating ideas
  • Understand the basic application of the five Systematic Inventive Thinking methods of innovation

  • Be able to apply one or more of the Systemic Inventive Thinking methods to a case

  • Apply one or more of the Systematic Inventive Thinking methods of a real-world problem in a group and produce unique ideas and concepts

  • Use systematic inventive thinking to stimulate innovation in your organization

  • Identify opportunities to apply inventive ideas without needing additional resources

  • Strategically use systematic inventing thinking in your organization to increase the awareness of innovation and increase innovation success rates

We will make every effort to present the program as advertised, but it may be necessary to change the date, location, instructors or content with little or no notice. In the event of program cancellation, Blockchain Hub’s liability is limited to reimbursement of paid fees. 

Cancellations and Substitutions

Substitution of registrants is permitted at any time. If you are unable to find a substitute, a full refund is available if a cancellation request is received in writing 7 days prior to the program date. If a cancellation request is made with less than 7 days’ notice, a $75 administration fee will apply. No other refund is available.
